Clinical/Healthcare Provider
Telebehavioral Health is a mode of providing mental and behavioral health services with high efficacy and satisfaction rates. It is not a separate service in and of itself. This mode of service requires specific training, preparation and protocols to provide safe, effective, ethical and legal services.
We recommend starting with the Overview section and the overview training to get a high-level perspective of telebehavioral health. Most of the work in starting a telebehavioral health service is in the initial education, technology selection and policies and procedures. Clinical providers who are new to telebehavioral health will find that after an initial adjustment period, much of their work will be similar to the same in-person services. The type of HIPAA-secure software and hardware vendors, and the policies and procedures needed will depend upon the setting of both the provider and the client/patient.
